5 Bars in Buenos Aires for an Evening with a Different Soundtrack

An evening can begin with a wish to listen to music, choose a drink or find somewhere to talk. When a bar has an approach that interests you, going out becomes a more specific decision: a destination appears, along with a reason to discover it. That does not require planning the whole evening, just choosing the first stop thoughtfully.

The BeTrusty Team’s Picks brings together Suma, Bimbi-Nilo, Sifón Sodería, Mimo Bar and Acuario Bar. The selection combines references to vinyl, vermouth, wine and food: each destination offers a different starting point for the evening. They are five possibilities for exploring Buenos Aires and choosing a place for more than its location.

Food and drink photographs are illustrative; they do not show the recommended establishments.

Suma

Suma adds Villa Crespo to this selection with a bar proposition that includes vinyl records, drinks and food. We choose it for anyone who wants music to be part of their curiosity about a place. That does not promise a specific program for your visit: check the current offering if you want to plan around a particular activity.

You can build the outing from the food or the drink, depending on what the group feels like doing. Looking at the menu helps decide whether it will be a pause or the evening’s main meeting. The vinyl records add a reason to visit and pay attention to another part of the outing: the music accompanying what you choose to eat or drink.

Bimbi-Nilo

Bimbi-Nilo appears as a listening bar with vinyl records and cocktails. In this guide, it is the name to consider when listening is an important part of the plan. Check its current location and format before going, especially if the visit depends on a particular session or musical offering.

The experience you want can begin with paying a different kind of attention to the evening: fewer collected destinations and more interest in what you chose to discover. Check the menu and organize the meeting around that wish. If this format appeals to you, find out the program for your chosen date and build the meeting around what you want to hear.

Sifón Sodería

Sifón Sodería takes the list to Chacarita with vermouth, cocktails with soda and small plates. We include it because it offers a specific starting point for the order: arriving curious about that combination, asking about available options and choosing accompaniments. Not everyone in the group needs to order the same thing.

If vermouth interests you, ask which options they have and how they are served. If you prefer another drink, look at the rest of the menu. The outing can come together around those different tastes and shared food, checking the sizes and ingredients of what you would like to bring to the table.

Mimo Bar

Mimo Bar adds a wine-and-food proposition in Palermo Hollywood. Its inclusion opens a plan that can begin with a drink and continue with food, depending on current service and offerings. You could make it the destination for an evening in that area and give conversation a place in the plan. For a starting point before ordering, read our guide to choosing and ordering Argentine wine.

Perhaps you want to meet someone you have not seen for a while, or have an outing with no purpose beyond discovering a bar. Choose the order according to that occasion. If you want dinner, ask what is currently offered and how booking works, instead of inferring a complete experience from photographs.

Acuario Bar

Acuario Bar brings the route to Retiro with a proposition combining wine, cocktails and bistro small plates. We include it for anyone who wants to compare more than one family of drinks and consider the cooking too. The variety of interests lets you imagine an outing where each person finds their own choice.

Check the current offering before defining the plan. If food takes center stage, choose from there; if you want to discover a drink, ask for guidance and look for an accompaniment. The combination of categories makes Acuario a starting point for a group with different tastes: finding something personal while sharing the outing.

To choose, put what you want to do into words: listen, talk, try a vermouth or share something to eat. Then look for the offering that fits best and check its current conditions. None needs to become the first stop in five bars; one destination can have the whole evening to itself. Your usual journeys, including getting home after an evening out, can help you choose a neighborhood around your routine.

If you are imagining a stay in Buenos Aires, these outings help give shape to your personal map. Explore monthly stays in Buenos Aires and compare location and terms with your usual routes. Plan the journey home according to the time and place you choose. The plan begins with an evening you want and comes together through specific decisions about how to enjoy it.
